been a very strange week thursday saw my return from my dinner break to the sound of an alarm bell going off i looked up to see a guy pedaling off like a bat out of hell on a bike he looked to big for, turns out he had just done and armed robbery on the post office across the road, so have spent a wonderful time giving interviews to both the police and local radio, my bosses comment was  did you remember to mention the sho.

 

then came friday a day i was dreading as it was my freinds cremation and i was not looking forward to it, "r " kid (my brother) and myself duely followed the courtage to the crem and going inside to the chapel area i must admit i was feeling strange as tom was just not religious at all, lets just say his politics were to the left of marx lol. the room was totaly packed with peeps from my past etc, then the music started it was pink floyds Wish you were here, then the lady conducting the service proceeded to inform us that this was a life service not a religious service and so it turned out not one mention of god just some anacdotes about toms life then his two fav poems followed by the closing piece of music which was toms fav song Heart of Gold by Neil Young. i actualy came away feeling ok and have decided thats the sevice i will request 

sat here cant get my head round anything i have to do, its like walking in fog. i guess its the one thing we dont teach and yet its so big apart of our life. we all have to "cope" with the loss of those we know, but it always knocks us for six. is it because we risk and love others that we suffer, is there a point to this hurt and pain, all i have is questions never answers, but then again would we want to know the answers

 

all i can say is he made me a better person and im glad we had so many good times

over 20 + yrs ago i wa in a very dark place one saturday afternoon just left the pub and went to a mates house for a few spliffs and a natter.

whilst there this long haired biker guy turned up intoduced himself as tom, he sat down shared a few spliffs with us then came out for a beer (in those days pubs were shut between 3- 5:00pm ) over the course of the next few weeks he became a good mate, we went to concerts even saw rhe floyd with him. we were due to go to amsterdam over the xmas break, but my brother just rang to say he died at 6pm yesterday. i dont as yet know what to feel just know the human race just lost a nice guy and i just lost a very close mate
